Kanye the Shoemaster

Kanye West confirmed that he is in collaboration with Louis Vuitton on a line a shoes. This should be interesting, considering he was in talks w/ Murakami awhile back to work on a line of jewelry, but that seemed to have died with time, so he must be itching to get his creations out one way or the other.

It's interesting that after LV's line of jewelry w/ Pharrel Williams, that the next celebrity collab for LV is with another hip-hop star. It seems that Marc Jacobs really digs their larger-than-life influence.

Totes for a Cause #5

If you love Marc Jacobs or Andy Warhol, and want to declare it to the world, Marc has put his Interview magazine cover (where he posed as Warhol) on a limited canvas bag, sold only in his stores, where 100% of the proceeds benefit the Andy Warhol Museum of Pittsburgh.

While the bag does nothing for me (I actually find the imagery a tad on the creepy side), as this bag is cheap for MJ, is for a good cause, and a trendier alternative than some other "go green" bags, I find no faults with this bag, which will certainly make a great stocking stuffer (shop now for Christmas!). :P

Victoria looking sublime at the CFDA Awards

I adore this new look from Victoria Beckham! She looks polished, healthy, happy, relaxed. I love how she's not overdone, but just very poised and comfortable.

And the dress! So adorable! It's aflutter with layers and layers of chiffony hearts! Marc Jacobs did well with this look. I wonder if it was a one-of-a-kind, or if he'll be selling this frock from his collection anytime soon...? Just gorgeous!

I never met a frog that I didn't like...

Ever since I was little, I'd always thought that frogs were kinda cute. In their buggy-eyed, bloated tummies, padded fingers kind of way, they always seemed to represent wide-eyed innocence. Other girls always associated frogs with a handsome prince in disguise, but not me. Maybe because I grew up (for a short time) in an area where I had access to frogs, snakes, turtles, and salamanders, I liked the frogs for the frogs themselves, and these little creatures never really grossed me out.

While frogs aren't normally viewed as creatures reserved for cute accessories, I instantly fell in love with these 2 very frog-centric pieces.

The first is this adorable little ring from J.Crew. This version comes in black agate, but there is also a lemon jade version (which would've been my first choice, but I think that one is sold out). I love that it's a little frog that's wrapped around your fingers, much like the little frogs I used to catch as a kid in Walden Pond. This is an ideal little ring to wear on the index finger, methinks.

Then there is this Marc Jacobs purse! It's kinda silly, is fully impractical, and really, why a frog, but I love it anyways. I like that the frog is smack in the middle, as both a showpiece and an accent to the bag. While you can get it in neon pink or acid yellow, I prefer the muted, plain black version, because the gold frog stands out more.

For a one-of-a-kind frogger experience, Neiman Marcus has an exclusive version of the frog bag.

Yes, even Victoria Beckham would approve (if she was your idol, of course). :p

swans for a night out

I love this swan collar, although other than a photo shoot, or maybe a fancy night out, who would ever have a chance to wear this?

If it wasn't so darn elegant, this would easily fall into the Björk swan dress territory, but no, this is so much more beautiful than that.
