the perfect bridesmaids

I just thought that this was an immensely pretty photo of Blake Lively and Leighton Meester. Feels like a real, behind-the-scenes shot at a wedding, relaxed and perfect, and not staged for the show. They were probably just chatting here. The lighting, the colors, even their body language and expressions, so pitch perfect.

I normally wouldn't go for floral prints, but these ladies managed to make the pattern sophisticated and sweet at the same time...in pink and yellow! So, so pretty... :)

Lucky Leighton

Leighton Meester graces the August 2008 issue of Lucky magazine. I like this pic of her 'cause she looks very beautiful even with the more natural make-up. Also, she's not too stylized like some of her other pictorials, so it's refreshing to see.

I haven't picked up a copy of Lucky in ages 'cause it's a dangerous mag; it has so many goodies inside I start to covet, so the less I see, the less I'm tempted. However, on the inside of the mag, you can see some of Leighton's personal fashion picks.


See a quickie interview during her photo shoot below. I think she's kinda funny in interviews, 'cause she comes off talking like a tomboy, not very girly at all, which is how she's portrayed on "Gossip Girls."

Leighton missing but I found her!

I'm actually a little dumbfounded by this. Flipping through my June 2008 issue of Self, you see a gorgeous shot of Liv Tyler on the cover, but within the pages is a whole pictorial of Leighton Meester, along with a guide on how to protect your skin. She looks fresh-faced and very pretty. However, there is no mention of Leighton anywhere on the cover. I went to Self.com and did a search for Leighton, but again, nothing. Did the editors forget to mention her? Or do they prefer to surprise the reader?

I suppose in this day and age where every celeb wants/needs exposure, this is the classier approach, to use a celeb to promote a cause, but it isn't necessary to scream their name on the cover? What if they miss all those extra readers who wouldn't normally read Self, but are fans of "Gossip Girl?" Aren't they missing an opportunity to reach those readers? are you sick of my Gossip Girl coverage yet?

I'm starting to think I'm turning this into a "Gossip Girl" fan blog (:p), but I liked this photo, so I'm just posting it 'cause I like it. I think Leighton Meester is very pretty, and even in this behind-the-scenes shot, she looks very cute. This scene is supposedly a wedding scene, but for who's wedding? Hmm...

Blake and Leighton mugging it up

While I'm still on my "Gossip Girl" mini-obsession, here are some new pics of the ladies from the May 2008 issue of Nylon magazine. While I've glimpsed cutesier photos of them from mags like Teen Vogue, they are def. showing an edgier look here. I'm not sure if the covers are double covers (2-in-1), or if the mag is trying to cash out by creating 2 independent covers (double the issues, double the revenue), but I think they both look pretty styling.


I love what they did with Blake's makeup, esp. in this pic. She lost that "sunny" look and is rocking a model-esque expression.
